Born on April 15, 1990 in Paris, France, Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was just like any other girl. Today, she's grossed over 10 million dollars in ten years, since the first Harry Potter film was released on the big screen.
With less than a month before the final installment is released, I realized how much Emma Watson has changed from her eleven year old self, the age at which she was cast for Hermione Granger. Today, she has taken on a whole new style along with a new haircut.
In a recent interview with UAE’s University Magazine, Emma confided that "with short hair [I]’ve got to be a bit bolder, there’s nothing to hide behind. So it’s made me be bolder in my fashion choices. It’s actually made me more confident as a person I think. I’m not sure why that is. But it has." This reminded me how much her style as a person has evolved, on the red carpet and on the street. As a college student, her clothes around campus at Brown University are relaxed and probably a size larger than her body needs. At a movie premiere, award's show, or after party; however, Emma's style is breathtaking and flawless. Swoon-worthy.
Today, she's proved she's more than a smart girl with a wand and bushy hair. She's not Hermione anymore, as unhappy as fans may be. After July 15th, Emma will be Emma, not Hermione Granger. And while she won't have real magical powers, she'll still be magical.
And I cannot wait to see what see, along with the rest of the Harry Potter cast, does next.
